Sunshine Buns started late one night, on a date, when four married friends finally said it out loud - what if we just do the thing? So we did. Right then and there.
At the heart of it all is Mema - one of our founders’ moms and the keeper of the cinnamon roll recipe that started everything. Her recipe was passed down the way the best ones are - with love, butter, and zero shortcuts. We like to think of Mema not as just one person, but a collective Mema - the warm, welcoming spirit who believes everyone deserves something homemade and special.
We started baking immediately, before it was perfect, before we felt ready. Sunshine Buns is about honoring where you come from while being bold enough to build something new. It’s about saying yes, taking the leap, and sharing a little joy along the way.
